For many Canadians, embracing the cold temperatures for a few months each year can be a lot to ask, but for the people of Harbin, China, it would seem they’ve welcomed the bitter cold with open arms. Each year, the world’s biggest ice and snow festival sculpts an entire city out of ice and snow. With all the work required to sculpt an entire ice city, one might be curious to ask how long before it all melts? According to one China travel guide, the winter months in Harbin can last as long as six months and temperatures as low as -38 C have been known to descend on the city.
