Only a few short weeks ago on March 22, the Red River flowing past Selkirk, Man., was locked in ice (shown here), but carved down the center by ice-breaking equipment to help minimize flooding. As of now, this section of river is free-flowing but large chunks of ice are jammed together further north of the city.
